Bio:
Erik Pløen (1925–2004) worked with ceramic wall reliefs and sculptural forms in the mid-20th century and was known for his distinctive visual language with figurative subjects and bold graphic surfaces. His works combine ceramic technique with a painterly sense of composition, often focusing on themes such as human relationships, mother and child figures, and symbolic imagery. Pløen’s pieces were typically produced as unique works and larger decorative commissions, making his output comparatively rare today.
