Meissen, lidded bowl.
Round lidded bowl in white porcelain decorated with a hand-painted polychrome rose and small floral motifs, accented with subtle gilt detailing to the rim and foot. The finial is formed as a knop. Marked to the base with the Meissen crossed swords.

Origin: Saxony, Germany.
Material: Porcelain.
Dimensions: H. 7 cm, D. 9 cm.
Period: Early 20th century.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear. First factory quality.

Founded in 1710, Meissen is Europe’s oldest porcelain manufactory, renowned for its hard-paste porcelain and long tradition of hand-painted decoration. In the early 20th century, Meissen continued producing classical floral designs, often focused on single rose motifs, characterised by refined proportions, meticulous execution, and enduring craftsmanship.
