Bio:
Mari Simmulson 1911–2000 was a Swedish ceramic artist and designer who worked for Upsala Ekeby from 1949. She is renowned for her strong decorative vocabulary, characterised by stylised natural motifs, relief surfaces and a deliberate contrast between glazed and unglazed areas. Her works from the 1960s demonstrate a refined balance between functionality and artistic expression and are considered key examples of Swedish studio ceramics of the period.
