Set of six pressed clear glass bowls from the Ultima Thule series, defined by its distinctive textured surface inspired by melting ice and Nordic landscapes. Unmarked.

Origin: Finland.
Designer: Tapio Wirkkala.
Material: Glass.

Period: 1970s.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.

Bio:
Tapio Wirkkala (1915–1985) was one of Finland’s most influential designers and worked extensively for Iittala. Trained as a sculptor, he gained international recognition for his work in glass, silver, wood, and graphic design. He received several major international awards, including the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale in 1951 and 1954. The Ultima Thule series, introduced in 1968, is among his most iconic designs and exemplifies his ability to combine technical innovation with forms inspired by nature.
