Meissen figurine, nobleman with flute and dog.
Porcelain figurine depicting a standing nobleman with a flute beside a tree stump and a small dog at his feet. Executed in hand-painted porcelain with polychrome colors and gilded details.
Model 2722. First quality. Marked with Meissen’s crossed swords. Based on a model by Johann Joachim Kaendler.

Origin: Germany.
Material: Porcelain.
Dimensions: H. 16 cm, W. 6 cm.
Period: 19th century.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.

Bio:
The Meissen porcelain factory was founded in 1710 in Meissen, Saxony, and is considered the first porcelain manufactory in Europe. The factory became especially renowned during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries for its finely modelled porcelain figurines inspired by Rococo and Baroque art, executed with exceptional technical and artistic precision.
