Large slender thrown stoneware vase with a brown nuanced glaze. Unique piece from Rörstrand, signed CHS and dated 1961. First factory quality.

Origin: Sweden.
Designer: Carl-Harry Stålhane (1920–1990).
Material: Stoneware.

Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.

Bio:

Carl-Harry Stålhane (1920–1990) was a Swedish ceramic artist and designer who worked at Rörstrand from 1939 and became one of the factory’s most important post-war artists. He is known for elegant forms and refined glaze techniques, particularly in stoneware, producing both factory models and unique studio pieces. Stålhane served as artistic director at Rörstrand from 1950 to 1973 and is regarded as one of the major figures in twentieth-century Swedish ceramics.
