Bing & Grøndahl was founded in Copenhagen in 1853 by the sculptor Frederik Vilhelm Grøndahl (1816–1891) together with the brothers Meyer Hermann Bing (1807–1883) and Jacob Herman Bing (1804–1896). The factory became internationally known for its high-quality hand-painted porcelain, including the Blue Fluted decoration which continued the Danish porcelain tradition with exceptional craftsmanship and artistic precision.
