Royal Copenhagen was founded in 1775 in Copenhagen under the patronage of Queen Dowager Juliane Marie. The factory is renowned for its hand-painted underglaze decoration, including the Blue Fluted Plain pattern, introduced in 1775 and remaining a cornerstone of Danish porcelain history.
