Bio:
Georg Jensen (1866–1935) was a Danish silversmith and designer and one of the most influential figures in early twentieth-century Danish design. He founded the Georg Jensen silversmithy in Copenhagen in 1904, where his work quickly gained international recognition. Jensen’s designs are characterised by organic forms and inspiration from nature, strongly influenced by the Art Nouveau movement. His workshop developed into one of the world’s most important producers of artistic silverware, and many of his classic flatware patterns are still produced today.
