Organically shaped glass bowl in deep blue glass with clear rim and softly flowing edge, produced in the classic Murano art glass tradition.

Bio:
Murano is an island in the Venetian Lagoon that has been the centre of Italian glassmaking since the late 13th century. In 1291 the Venetian authorities moved the glass furnaces from Venice to Murano to protect the secrets of glass production and reduce fire risks in the city. Murano quickly developed into one of Europe’s most important centres for art glass. During the 20th century the island’s workshops became internationally recognised for modern designs characterised by pure forms, vibrant colours and free-form sculptural objects, many of which are highly sought after by collectors today.
