Bio:
Marc Chagall (1887–1985) was a Russian-French artist and one of the most influential figures of twentieth-century modernism. He worked across painting, printmaking, stage design and stained glass, and is known for poetic compositions featuring floating figures, lovers, animals and cityscapes. Chagall developed a highly personal visual language combining elements of cubism, fauvism and symbolism. His lithographs and graphic works, often produced in collaboration with Parisian ateliers such as Mourlot, are among the most celebrated graphic works of the twentieth century.
