Large circular porcelain dish with hand-painted decoration in red, green and gilt tones depicting figures and landscape scenes. Signed to the base.

Origin: Japan.
Material: Porcelain.
Dimensions: H. 4 cm, D. 30 cm.
Period: Circa 1900.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.

Bio:
Kutani porcelain originates from Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan and dates back to the 17th century. It is renowned for its rich colour palette and finely detailed hand-painted decoration, often featuring the distinctive aka-e style dominated by red tones. Around 1900, production combined traditional Japanese motifs with pieces made for export markets, making these works highly sought after by collectors today.
