Rectangular wall relief in white biscuit porcelain depicting a classical putti motif after Bertel Thorvaldsen, executed with fine detailing and soft modelling in the neoclassical style.

Origin: Denmark.
Material: Biscuit porcelain.
Dimensions: H. 12.5 cm, W. 16 cm.
Period: 1870s.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear, yellowed.

Bio:
Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770–1844) was a Danish sculptor and a central figure of Neoclassicism. He worked primarily in Rome and created works inspired by the ideals of classical antiquity. His reliefs and sculptures were widely reproduced in porcelain by manufacturers such as Bing & Grøndahl, making his art accessible to a broader audience.
