Svend Hammershøi for Kähler, dish.
Decorative stoneware dish with characteristic spiral ornamentation and uranium glaze in golden and brown tones. A strong example of Hammershøi’s design language and experimental glaze work from the 1930s. Marked on the base.

Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.

Bio:
Svend Hammershøi (1873–1948) was a Danish ceramicist and sculptor, known for his work at Kähler in Næstved. He was a central figure in the development of Danish art pottery and is particularly recognised for his simple, monumental forms and advanced glazes, including experiments with uranium glazes that create a distinctive depth and glow.
