Svend Hammershøi for Kähler, trumpet-shaped vase.
Decorative stoneware vase with a characteristic trumpet form and double glaze in black and grey tones. A fine example of Hammershøi’s refined form language and subtle glaze work from the 1930s. Marked on the base.

Bio:
Svend Hammershøi (1873–1948) was a Danish ceramicist and sculptor, known for his work at Kähler in Næstved. He is regarded as one of the most important figures in Danish ceramics in the early 20th century. Hammershøi is particularly recognised for his elegant, classical forms and refined glazes, which have had a lasting influence on Danish ceramic tradition.
