Bio:
Tapio Wirkkala (1915–1985) was one of Finland’s most influential designers and a key figure in Scandinavian modernism. He worked across multiple materials but is especially renowned for his glass designs for Iittala. The Ultima Thule series, introduced in 1968, is among his most iconic works, inspired by the melting ice formations of Lapland, resulting in its unique texture.
