Bio:
Hans August Osswald (1919–1983) was a Swedish painter and book illustrator born in Örebro. He debuted in Stockholm in 1947 and subsequently exhibited widely across Sweden, including in Örebro, Kalmar and Falun. Osswald worked in both painting and graphic media, including woodcuts, and participated in several travelling exhibitions. His works are represented in collections such as the National Museum in Stockholm, Malmö Museum, Eskilstuna Museum and the Brooklyn Museum in New York. He remained active until the early 1960s and is considered part of the Swedish modernist tradition.
