Bing & Grøndahl Butterfly dish model 40.
Triangular porcelain dish with scalloped rim and hand-painted butterfly decoration in blue underglaze, model 40, dating from the 1920s. First quality.
Origin: Denmark.
Material: Porcelain.
Dimensions: H. 3 cm, W. 23 cm.
Period: 1920s.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.
Bio:
Bing & Grøndahl was founded in Copenhagen in 1853 by sculptor Frederik Vilhelm Grøndahl (1836–1900) together with brothers Meyer Hermann Bing (1807–1883) and Jacob Herman Bing (1800–1875). The factory became internationally recognised for its fine porcelain, especially blue underglaze-decorated services such as the Butterfly series, combining refined Danish design with exceptional craftsmanship.
