Bio:
Gunnar Nylund (1904–1997) was a Swedish-Finnish ceramicist and designer, recognised as one of Scandinavia’s most important ceramic artists of the 20th century. He served as artistic director at Rörstrand from 1931 to 1955, creating some of the factory’s most iconic stoneware series, often distinguished by organic forms, chamotte clay, and innovative glazes. His work combines sculptural strength with refined Nordic aesthetics and remains highly regarded internationally.
