Bio:
Berndt Friberg (1899–1981) was a Swedish ceramic artist and one of the most celebrated designers associated with Gustavsberg. He started as a thrower at the factory during the 1930s and later developed his own artistic language characterised by exceptionally thin thrown forms and highly refined hare’s fur glazes in muted tones. Friberg’s works are today considered among the most desirable examples of Scandinavian studio ceramics and are represented in museums and important private collections worldwide.
