Georg Jensen, sterling silver compote model 431.
Circular sterling silver compote with an elegant baluster-shaped foot and gently flared bowl. Produced circa 1920 with a hand-hammered surface and refined form characteristic of early Danish silver craftsmanship. Provenance from a private Scottish collection.

Bio:
Georg Jensen was a Danish silversmith and designer, born in 1866 and died in 1935. He founded Georg Jensen in Copenhagen in 1904 and gained international recognition for his organic forms and exceptional craftsmanship in silver and decorative arts. His work is closely associated with Scandinavian Art Nouveau and early modernism, and the company remains one of the most important names in Danish silver production today.
