Meissen Porcelain was founded in 1710 in Meissen, Saxony, and is regarded as the first porcelain manufactory in Europe. The factory became renowned for its hand-painted porcelain of the highest quality, and the iconic Blue Onion pattern, known in Germany as Zwiebelmuster, has been one of its most celebrated designs since the eighteenth century. Meissen remains among the worlds most prestigious porcelain manufacturers.
