Bio:
Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) was a Spanish painter, printmaker, sculptor, and ceramic artist, widely regarded as one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. Alongside Georges Braque, he pioneered Cubism, while continually reinventing his artistic language throughout his career. Printmaking was a major part of his oeuvre, and his lithographs, etchings, and linocuts frequently explored themes drawn from classical mythology, bullfighting, the artist's studio, and the human figure. Faune et Femme Nue belongs to Picasso's enduring fascination with ancient mythology, reinterpreting the faun as a symbol of vitality, sensuality, and creative freedom through his bold, unmistakable graphic style.
