Bio:
Hildegard Falk (1922–1998) was a German-born Swedish painter and illustrator who studied art and theatre decoration in Leipzig. After the Second World War, she came to Sweden in 1948 and later continued her artistic education at the Essem School and Skånska Målarskolan in Malmö, as well as studying graphic art at Forumskolan. During the 1960s, she undertook study trips to Spain, Austria, Switzerland and southern France. Her work encompasses landscapes, harbour scenes, forest interiors, old buildings, horses and children, executed in media including oil, watercolour and graphic techniques. Falk participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is represented in museums, public collections and institutions throughout Sweden.
