Hans Hedberg for Biot, lidded bowl.

Large unique stoneware lidded bowl raised on four feet with a deep oxblood glaze in rich red and dark brown tones. Signed.

Origin: France.
Material: Stoneware.
Dimensions: H. 18 cm, W. 26 cm, L. 32 cm.
Period: 1960s.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.

Bio:
Hans Hedberg (1917–2007) was a Swedish ceramic artist who settled in Biot, southern France, during the 1950s. He became internationally renowned for his monumental ceramic sculptures and masterful glaze experiments, often inspired by organic forms such as eggs, fruits, and seed pods. His works are represented in major museum collections and he is regarded as one of the most important Nordic ceramic artists of the twentieth century.
