Herbert Krenchel, enamel bowl.

Elegant enamel bowl with a matte black exterior and a light enamelled interior. Designed in the iconic Krenit style, combining a clean sculptural form with functional Danish design.

Origin: Denmark.
Designer: Herbert Krenchel.
Material: Enamelled steel.
Dimensions: H. 11 cm, D. 25 cm.
Period: 1970s.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear. Small chip to the enamel on the interior, see photo.

Bio:
Herbert Krenchel (1922–2014) was a Danish materials engineer and designer, best known for the Krenit bowl, introduced in 1953. The name Krenit combines his surname with the material Eternit, which he worked with as an engineer. The Krenit series received the Gold Medal at the Milan Triennale in 1954 and is today regarded as one of the defining classics of post-war Danish design.
