Bio:
Arne Bang (1901–1983) was a Danish ceramicist and sculptor, educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He worked for Holmegaard before establishing his own studio in 1930. Bang became renowned for his monumental stoneware vases with restrained classical forms and distinctive matte glazes, particularly his highly sought-after sandy eggshell glaze. His works are regarded as among the finest achievements of twentieth-century Danish ceramic art.
