Jens Søndergaard (1895–1957) was a Danish painter and a prominent figure in Danish Expressionism. He is particularly known for his powerful landscapes and scenes from the west coast of Jutland, where the sea, fishing boats and changing weather frequently appear. His works are characterised by spontaneous draughtsmanship, strong movement and an expressive treatment of colour and nature.
