Bio:
L. Hjorth was founded in Rønne on the Danish island of Bornholm in 1859 by Lauritz Adolph Hjorth (1834–1912). The factory became known for art pottery and functional ceramics inspired by both classical motifs and Bornholm’s ceramic tradition. During the 20th century, production included decorative vases, figures and lamps, and Hjorth is regarded as an important part of Bornholm’s ceramic history.
