Colourful abstract composition constructed from geometric and organic forms in shades of red, green, yellow and blue. Executed in oil on board with pronounced dark outlines and a modernist, almost Cubist visual language. Signed and dated 1961.

Bio:
Eric Julius Svensson (1920–1995), known as Eric Julius, was a Swedish visual artist born in Vitaby, Scania. He studied at the Essem School and under Professor Helge Nielsen from 1950 to 1953 and worked in close connection with the Scanian and Danish painting traditions. His oeuvre included landscapes, still lifes and more modernist compositions, often distinguished by a strong sense of colour and expressive use of form. He exhibited at venues including Liljevalchs and was associated with the artists community in Arild. Eric Julius is represented in several Swedish museum collections, including Malmö Art Museum, Ystad Art Museum, Helsingborg Museum and Småland Museum.
