Abstract composition executed in mixed media on board with a strongly textured, impasto surface and a subdued earth-toned palette. The composition is constructed from layered, almost architectural forms and tactile surfaces, punctuated by a few darker colour accents. Signed and dated 1968.

Bio:
Kaj Sigvard Siesjö (1920–1985) was a Swedish painter and visual artist, born in Gothenburg and later active in Skåne. He studied at Skånska målarskolan and under Otte Sköld and undertook study travels to Norway and France. Siesjö worked with both abstract and semi-figurative compositions, often showing an affinity with Cubist approaches to form. He also completed several monumental commissions, including the 1955 fresco in Oderljunga Church, and is represented in collections including Helsingborg Museum.
