Large ceramic planter with organic relief decoration depicting stylised trees and foliage in brown and orange tones. Model 523, marked underneath.

Origin: Denmark.
Material: Ceramic.
Dimensions: H. 24 cm, D. 24 cm.
Period: 1920s.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear. Minor traces of limescale, easily removed.

Bio:
P. Ipsens Enke was an important Danish ceramics manufacturer, founded in Copenhagen in 1843 by Peter Ipsen (1815–1860). Following his death, the company was continued by his widow Louise Ipsen (1822–1905) and later their son Bertel Ipsen (1846–1917). The factory gained international recognition for its art pottery and collaborated with several prominent Danish artists throughout its history. Production continued until 1955.
