Bio:
Carl-Harry Stålhane (1920–1990) was a Swedish ceramicist, designer, sculptor and painter. He joined Rörstrand in 1939 and later studied at Grünewald’s painting school in Stockholm and the Académie Colarossi in Paris. During the 1950s, he succeeded Gunnar Nylund as artistic director at Rörstrand and became a central figure in Swedish stoneware. His work is characterised by refined forms, experimental glazes and a strong sculptural quality. He remained associated with Rörstrand until 1973, when he founded his own studio, Designhuset, in Lidköping.
