Trille Jørgensen, large stoneware relief.

Large and heavy handmade relief in fired and glazed stoneware with a distinctive Brutalist composition. The surface is constructed from geometric and organic sections with pronounced textures, incised decoration and varied glazes in brown, beige and dark earth tones. Signed and dated 1978.

Bio:
Trille Jørgensen (born 1944) is a Danish ceramicist educated at the Funen Art Academy. She is particularly known for her work in stoneware and has created both functional ceramics and ceramic reliefs. Her work is characterised by a strongly sculptural approach to the material, with tactile surfaces, pronounced textures and earth-toned glazes. She has exhibited at venues including Odense City Hall and Kunstbygningen Filosofgangen.
