Bio:
Rya is a traditional Nordic weaving technique in which long wool knots are tied onto a woven foundation, creating a characteristically soft and tactile surface. In Sweden, the technique was revitalised throughout the 20th century and became prominent in modern textile art and interior design. During the 1960s and 70s, rya textiles were often characterised by geometric patterns, natural materials and carefully balanced colour combinations.
