Georg Jensen, rare and early teapot, model 88.
Rare and early teapot executed in hand-hammered 830 silver with an elegant body raised on a circular foot, a curved spout and a handle with exotic wood inserts. Model 88. Made in 1919.
Origin: Denmark.

Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.
Bio:
Georg Jensen (1866–1935) was a Danish silversmith, sculptor and designer who established his own silversmithy in Copenhagen in 1904. His work combined functional craftsmanship with organic forms and a refined treatment of the silver surface. The early works from his workshop are particularly characteristic of the Danish Arts and Crafts tradition and were instrumental in establishing Georg Jensens international reputation as one of the leading silversmiths of the 20th century.
