Bio:
Svend Hammershøi (1873–1948) was a Danish artist and ceramicist with a long-standing association with Kähler in Næstved. From 1911, he was permanently associated with the workshop and continued his collaboration until his death in 1948. He is particularly known for his simple, distinctive ceramic forms and characteristic glazes. During the 1930s, his work included dark double glazes that gave the surfaces depth and varied tonal effects.
