Bio:
The Ottoman Empire had a distinguished tradition of silversmithing, particularly in Istanbul, where skilled craftsmen produced ceremonial and decorative objects for the imperial court and wealthy households. During the 19th century, Ottoman silverwork combined traditional Islamic ornamentation with European artistic influences, including Baroque and Rococo styles. The Sultan's tughra, a calligraphic monogram, was used as an official mark on precious metal objects, among other applications. Antique Ottoman silver is highly appreciated today for its craftsmanship and rich decorative heritage.
