main sub: 1 sub: 2 sub: 3
Carl-Harry Stålhane for Rörstrand, a pair of bowls.

Two glazed stoneware bowls with rounded sides and a varied reddish-brown glaze with darker accents along the rims. One is first quality, while the other has a cancelled mark with one incised line.

Origin: Sweden.
Designer: Carl-Harry Stålhane.
Material: Stoneware.
Dimensions: H. 3–5 cm, W. 8–12 cm.
Period: Mid-20th century.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear. One bowl is first quality. The other piece is classified as second quality, indicated by a single incised line through the maker’s mark. No immediately visible defects.

Sometimes porcelain is classified as second quality without any immediately apparent reason. To the untrained eye, these pieces may appear completely flawless. However, prestigious manufacturers maintain exceptionally strict quality standards, meaning that a piece of porcelain may be downgraded due to a minute variation in weight, a microscopic air bubble in the glaze, or a structural irregularity that is invisible to the naked eye.
