Bio:
Since the mid-20th century Vence on the Côte d’Azur has attracted artists and craftspeople, among them Henri Matisse, who decorated the Chapel of the Rosary in the town. In the post-war years the area around Vence and neighbouring Vallauris became a centre of French studio pottery, where small workshops produced hand-painted unique pieces in bright colours.
